The Senate resolution expresses support for the Falun Gong Spiritual Movement, Christians, Uighurs and Tibetans and concerns over their persecution by the Chinese regime. The resolution also calls on the Czech government to call on the Chinese regime to stop the persecution of these people, to release prisoners of conscience, to respect and to ratify the international human rights pact.

Petition 11/18 – “For the End of the Genocide of Falun Gong Practitioners Committed by the Chinese Regime” contained in Senate Press No. 265;
I. calls
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic
to investigate in detail the information based on the petition signed by more than 37,000 supporters and to inform the Senate of the development of the relationship between Falun Gong practitioners and the government of the PRC;
III.
1. Expresses its concern that the state authorities of the People’s Republic of China are seriously violating human and civil rights of persons belonging to national minorities living in Xinjiang and Tibet Autonomous Communities.
2. Expresses its concern about the persistent violation of freedom of religion by members of the religious groups of Christians, Falun Gong practitioners and Muslims in the territory of the People’s Republic of China.
3. Supports the members of the national minorities referred to in point 1 of this resolution and their families and members of the religious groups referred to in paragraph 2 of this resolution and their families.
4. Calls on the Government of the Czech Republic to call on the Government of the People’s Republic of China to stop the persecution of its citizens on the basis of their faith or ethnicity.
5. Calls on the Government of the Czech Republic to call on the Government of the People’s Republic of China to release immediately its citizens, imprisoned on the grounds of their political beliefs, faith or ethnicity, from prison and re-education labor camps.
6. Calls on the Government of the Czech Republic to call on the Government of the People’s Republic of China to abide by and ratify the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights signed on 5 October 1998;
7. Calls on the President of the Czech Republic, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and the President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic to consistently apply the principles set out in Article III, points 1 to 6 of this resolution.
IV.
Instructs the President of the Senate of the Czech Republic to inform the President of the Czech Republic, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
